JKU Linz – learning & teaching in an inspiring atmosphere.
The Johannes Kepler University Linz invested in the construction of a new five-storey ‘House of Schools’. The building not only impresses with its unique architecture, but also with modern room concepts that take teaching and learning to a new level. neudoerfler designed the furnishings for the communal areas, offices and seminar rooms - with the aim of creating functional, ergonomic and inspiring working and learning environments.
Pioneering room concepts in the interplay between architecture and furnishings.
The customised furnishings from neudoerfler perfectly complement the architectural features of the JKU Linz. The modernly furnished rooms help to create an inspiring and future-orientated university landscape in which knowledge transfer, creativity and innovation are optimally promoted. Open, inviting room concepts promote interaction between students and lecturers, while pleasant acoustics and high-quality materials ensure a motivating learning and working environment. The bistro and meeting tables in the open-plan auditorium areas on each floor can be used for coordination with colleagues, group work or concentrated learning.
The ‘Common Room’, a communal space for professors, has been furnished with comfortable lounge furniture in eye-catching colours that invite you to linger and relax during breaks from work or lectures. High tables with matching bar stools offer ideal conditions for meetings in between lectures or a shared lunch.
Rooms for learning and exchanging ideas.
The seminar rooms were designed with a particular focus on creating an optimal learning atmosphere. Variably placeable tables allow for different teaching formats - from traditional lectures to interactive group work. Sufficient space has also been provided for jackets, rucksacks and bags: Cloakroom wall panels are integrated into the room to save space. The use of high-quality materials and a well thought-out room design create an environment that supports both concentration and dialogue between students.
Ergonomic and functional office solutions - for efficient working.
The office workstations were specifically tailored to the needs of teaching staff and employees. Ergonomics, functionality and a well thought-out design took centre stage. The bright, light-flooded rooms were equipped with ergonomic desks and swivel chairs as well as flexible storage solutions. This well thought-out combination guarantees healthy and efficient working in an environment that promotes productivity and well-being in equal measure.
