The new “Haus der Wiener Wirtschaft” unites the 10 former locations of the Vienna Economic Chamber under one roof. The premises comprise 22,000 m2 of open-plan offices and communication areas, with ample space for providing consultations and services to member companies.
In the awareness that digitalization, rapid innovation cycles, and a high level of customer and service orientation required new office and work structures and the courage to embrace change, the Vienna Economic Chamber found the solution: the new “Haus der Wiener Wirtschaft”. It was a big step, and one that will enable the Chamber to meet future challenges swiftly and flexibly. The large-scale project was realized with corresponding efficiency and speed within a period of only 14 months.
More than 700 employees are now located in the “Haus der Wiener Wirtschaft”. Their new environment is a modern office landscape with ideal working conditions. The design offers numerous opportunities for exchange with colleagues and senior executives, for working in teams or for concentrated thought – be it in the open team areas, in the concentration zones, in one of the many cosy seat groupings, or at the coffee bars in the generous lounge area. Pastel tones, solid wood elements and plants combine to create a homey and at the same time decidedly modern ambience.
The office areas are well thought-out and combine elegance with clarity of design. All work stations are equipped with electronically height-adjustable desks that encourage their users to engage in health-promoting physical activity. This gets the workday in motion – in all senses of the word. Effective acoustic desk enclosures provide privacy and at the same time allow sufficient free space for open communication.
In modern buildings constructed with sound-reflecting materials, the importance of room acoustics is often underestimated. At “Haus der Wiener Wirtschaft” this is not the case. Neudoerfler developed and installed aesthetically pleasing acoustic panels in characteristic colours, which tangibly optimize the acoustics and provide stylistically contrasting accents to the mainly discreet furnishings. Customized, colour-coordinated cabinets harmonize perfectly with the overall design.
For the desk enclosures and wall panels, Neudoerfler used an impressive four thousand metres of fabric – which, by the way, is almost exactly the length of the Prater-Hauptallee across the street.
