Österreichische Post AG (Austrian Post) is the country’s leading postal and logistics services provider. It is also strongly positioned internationally, with subsidiaries in twelve European countries. In November 2017, some 1,100 staff members relocated to the new corporate headquarters in Vienna’s 3rd district – the “Post am Rochus” – where they happily took possession of their beautifully designed, versatile and highly functional work stations on 22,000 square metres of office space.

Flexible, varied work areas create optimum conditions for activity-based work. The furnishing concept, developed precisely to the customer’s requirements by a team of architects from Schenker Salvi Weber and feld72, is characterized by a perfect balance between design, functionality and high-quality materials.

Architect Thomas Weber of Schenker Salvi Weber explains: “An open-space office concept like that of the ‘Post am Rochus’ requires optimum acoustic comfort. With Neudoerfler as our partner, we were able to implement our ideas perfectly.”

The shelving and cabinet systems developed and selected together with the architects, then custom-designed and serially produced by Neudoerfler, are true all-rounders: Together with selected seating furniture, they create aesthetically pleasing dividers for the open-space office floors. Their sound-absorbing surfaces create an agreeable work environment in terms of acoustics. At the same time, they fulfil every functional requirement that an up-to-date storage solution can be expected to meet.

The seven floors of office space are subdivided by 550 multi-functional storage units, such as lockable cabinets combined with coatrack elements or planters, or cabinets with integrated seating elements. The range of furnishings also includes 88 elegant, high-quality conference tables as well as height-adjustable, 4.8-metre-long workbenches.

With this project, Neudoerfler has once again demonstrated its solution-oriented competence in serially-produced, customized solutions as well as its expertise in acoustics.
